First time with Hellas sandals

I am a convert to Hella’s boots and wanted to try their sandals to compare to the *other* brand popular here in Australia.

First up, the colour and finish is GORGEOUS. Also, I’ve smashing them around without covers and the surface doesn’t seem to ding up to much, which is a bonus.

Now for the fit/feel - I have high arches and my feet seem to love the way Hella’s are constructed. This feels the same across boots and sandals. I find it’s much easier to get up on the toe blocks of Hella’s than other brands.

The material of the straps feels thick and good quality. There are positives to this, but I have been finding them harder to dance in as I can’t move my foot as much. This has definitely settled down the more I’ve danced in them, but is still noticeable. Similarly, the soles feel really thick which is great in some ways but always makes them a little harder to move in than other brands. Coupled with the thicker than average stilleto, it feels like I’m trading a bit of fluidity and movement for more stability.

I find it harder to do edge work in these shoes than other sandals.

TL:DR - look amazing, comfortable from first wear, easy to hang around en pointe, excellent quality, trade some ease of movement for stability (but getting better the more I wear them), harder to do edge work in.

Would buy again :)
